The Dangerous Book for Boys (and Girls?)

This book is very cool. It is unforunate though that the title seems so exclusionary, since my daughter thoroughly loves it, as I’m sure a lot of girls will.

The Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn and Hal Iggulden, reaches back to an era before Xbox and Gameboys, when kids would spend their summers building forts, shooting tin cans with slingshots and skimming stones on a clear lake.

This book was a bestseller in the UK last year and this release has been revised for an American audience.

Included in the American edition are topics such as

Making a Bow and Arrow
Spies-Codes and Ciphers
Making a Go-Cart

A New Children's Book Blog

Here is a new blog I just stumbled across, BooksForKidsBlog.

The creation of a retired (after 32+ year) elementary school librarian, this blog offers reviews for young people of preschool age through hign school.

Loving both kids and books equally as I do, perhaps helping children and the adults who care about them find good books through this blog is the next best thing to being there.
