Hi Josh

Thanks for your comments. I was at a middle school parent meeting last night where the topic of IM monitoring came up, so there seems to be a great desire for a product like IMSafer.

Hi Richard,

I’m the PR guy working with IMSafer. In regards to helping protect kids from inappropriate content on social networks, IMSafer has introduced its Social Networking Service that notifies parents when their children receive links or content from the major social networking services. More information is here:

Thanks for your comment.

Being able to monitor MSN, AOL and Yahoo is big! Of course, social networking sites like MySpace are becoming almost a right of passage for teens these days.

I look forward to testing it out.

Richard,

Thanks for picking this up. I’m the CEO of IMSafer, and we felt that a free alternative for parents makes a lot of sense. Our number 1 mission is helping parents and kids work together to keep the kids safe online. Our free service is our commitment to that. We do have a premium service, which gets coverage for the social netowrking sites, but free will get you coverage for MSN, AOL and Yahoo IM programs.

Thanks,
Brandon Watson
CEO IMSafer

Yes, free is good. Have you had a chance to test IMSafer yet?

I’ll try to dig into it a bit later.

I like the fact that IMSafer is free, and it seems to really address the real issue, IM is where predators really prey on kids.
