Making it easier to share your photos and lists

We’ve just added an enhancement which makes it easier to share your photos and lists with family and friends. You can now select one or more contacts from your address book and even select a tagged group of contacts.

Here is how it works. Let’s say you are a scoutmaster for your child’s scout troop. You may have a campout coming up and you’ve prepared a packing list for the campout.

You have already added all of the scout families into your address book and tagged each one of then with the tag, Scouts.

Now you can create your list and select Share from the list menu. This will bring up a new window with all contact from your address book, along with your tagged groups.

Select the tagged group Scouts and click on the Share button and your list will be e-mailed to everyone in your scout troop.

Similarly, once you get back from your campout, you can upload your photos into Famundo’s photo album and using the same Share screen, select the Scouts tag again. Everyone in your scout troop will now be able to view and download the campout photos.

Share your holiday photos with family and friends

Just in time for the holidays, we have made some enhancements to the Famundo Photo Albums.

Viewers can now click on an image to pull up a larger version of the image on display.

Also, unlike other photo sites which force you to use their photo printing services, we allow the viewer to download the image in a variity of formats. They can then use their photo printing service of choice or simply store the digital image.

Say cheese! ;-)

Allowing Friends to access your Famundo site

One of our users is on a fundraising committee for her school and wants to use Famundo to schedule all the meetings, deadlines, etc., in order to insure a successful event. She mentioned that she didn’t feel it would be appropriate to add the calendar to her school’s Famundo site. She said she would create a new calendar for the fundraiser on her personal Famundo site, but she didn’t want the other committee members looking at her personal Famundo items and wouldn’t want the calendar made public either.

Famundo has a solution for this situation with its flexible permission options.

The first thing you need to do do is create a new calendar for the fundraiser and set the view access “Family and Friends Only.” Each event that is added to this calendar should also have view access set to “Family and Friends Only.”

Now you can add the other committee members to your Address Book and click on “Invite” on the Contact Detail menu. This will allow you to send them an e-mail inviting them to become a member of your Famundo site. They can select their own login name and password.

Once they have accepted the invitation, they will be able to view your newly created fundraising calendar but will not have access to your personal Famundo items. The same with any documents you set with “Family and Friends Only.” access.

The public will not be able to view any of these items.

Note: At this time, contacts have to be added to your Famundo Address Book manually. We will be releasing a new build within the next two weeks that will allow you to import your contacts in a csv format.
