They call themselves a “family hub” and hope to replace your wall calendar, address book, filing cabinet, fridge magnets and yellow sticky notes. Famundo offers Outlook synchronization, a list maker and even a family library for storing your documents, photos, bookmarks and other personal information

Who it’s for: Busy moms who need their calendar software to serve as a digital daily planner. Famundo includes a list-making feature, address book, family homepage and a “vault,” an encrypted storage space where you can store important documents such as medical records. “Famundo has great customer support and is perfect for families,” says Valentina Sgro, a professional organizer.

It’s fair to say that if you’re office-based, you’re probably fairly intimate with your desktop calendar. How many times have you wished you could get your whole family or circle of friend hooked up to it too? This might be what you’ve been wishing for.

Famundo is a free online calender and planning center that enables every member of your family to post outings, messages, appointments, reminders, lists and more—kind of like Microsoft Outlook, but with easy multiple user functionality (and it syncs with Outlook if you’re already heavily invested there). One really nice feature: When plans change, instead of deleting or editing an appointment on the calendar, just drag it to the new time. There’s also an address book and even space for a family blog and photographs you can invite others to view.

The recent California wildfires demonstrate the importance of keeping a family’s vital records in a safe and secure place. Natural disasters can strike at any moment and as a result, a family can loose their important records forever.
Famundo provides a solution for keeping these records safe and secure with the Family Vault.
The Family Vault is a very secure area within Famundo’s Family Library for storing all the documents that are really important, like medical records, birth certificates and banking information. In the event of a disaster, you can rest assured that your data will be safe, secure and always available.
The Famundo Family Vault is more than just online storage. Users can be assured that their documents are encrypted with the same encryption that is used by the US Government for storing classified information, AES 256 encryption.
The password is NEVER stored anywhere in the client or the server computer. Thus in the unlikely event that the server is hacked, the data is still secure. There’s no way for an outsider to break in the vault data WITHOUT the password.

Famundo is all about personal and family organization, so it goes without saying that I have been following the work of Valentina Sgro for some time now.
Valentina is a member of the Golden Circle of the National Association of Professional Organizers and a Certified Chronic Disorganization Specialist. She is the owner of SGRO Consulting, Solutions for Getting Really Organized.
Her first book, Organize Your Family’s Schedule…In No Time, was an iParenting Media Award winner.
Her latest book, Patience and the Porsche, is a novel about the life of a professional organizer.
Patience “Pat” Oaktree is the self-proclaimed most successful professional organizer in the State. Never mind that she’s borderline chronically disorganized herself and can’t seem to start, much less complete, some of her own projects. She uses her silent mantra of “Patience, Patience” to remind herself not to get frustrated.
Now I know what you must be thinking. A professional organizer? What could possibly be interesting about a professional organizer? But think about it. When someone hires an organizer, they are basically opening their life to a complete stranger.
Hmmm…this could be interesting.
