True Stories - Keeping track of 5 children's activities

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Sun, 22 Jun 2008 23:24:00 GMT

We are really enjoying famundo! We use it to keep track of our 5 children’s different activities, my work schedule and other family affairs! I have already told a group of moms I know about it and have been able to show our family page as an example to them. Using a paper calendar to write all of our activities and the crucial information involved for each one was simply not working and I had a hard time with last minute warning about something going on. Now I know ahead of time when something is going to happen, and can even see where it will be, who will be taking them to the activity and the best part- when it will be over so I’m not worrying all night.

True Stories - Helping to Organize our Entire Family

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Thu, 19 Jun 2008 00:53:00 GMT

I am loving the Famundo! I’m using it not just for my entire family to keep track of their individual and family events but also in such instances like keeping my weekly supper menu and a listing of my son’s DVD and game collection so that if I’m out shopping, I can bring up my lists on the web using my phone and ensure that I’m not buying duplicates! It is helping to organize our entire family.

Famundo in Ladies' Home Journal

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Wed, 11 Jun 2008 22:46:00 GMT

We are very pleased that Famundo is featured in the Yuzhi Yang’s Miss Gizmo blog on Ladies’ Home Journal online.

Whether you have one kid or five, each child probably has a calendar full of activities: school events, scout outings, church meet-ups, volunteering, friends’ birthdays… Whew, it’s a wonder you can stay on top of it all. If you find the average online calendar to be too geared toward the office, Famundo.com’s family-oriented calendar might be a better fit.

True Stories - Keeping Families in Touch

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Fri, 06 Jun 2008 22:50:00 GMT

Let me share with you how we are using Famundo.

I’m a Mom with 2 daughters in their 30’s. Each has an active family. One daughter lives 6 miles away from me, but the other daughter lives 8 hours away. We decided that it would be nice to know what each of us is up to at any given time. Also, as a vacation planner, we can see each others events and activities and decide “yes, this would be a good weekend for the three families to get together.”

Between the two daughters, I have 5 grandchildren. Famundo allows me to see their baseball schedules, dance class times, etc. and of course keep up with my girls too.

Thanks for providing us with this service.

True Stories - What made us choose Famundo

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Tue, 13 May 2008 04:50:00 GMT

What made us choose Famundo as our calendar system? It was the three most important features that Famundo offered us that no other online calendar application system could;

1) Cost – as a school with a limited budget you will be well aware that anything that offers a great service for free is preferred.

2) Integration into our school website. Famundo was the only service we looked at that allowed us to embed the calendar into our website design – (and did not embed with links to external sites not suitable for children)

3) Multiple author addition. We wanted a system that allowed our office staff, headteacher and class teachers to add events themselves, and not rely on a sole user to make all changes.

True Stories - Making Life a Little Less Complicated

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Fri, 09 May 2008 00:34:00 GMT

More True Stories!

Famundo has made a very noticeable difference in the lives of my wife and myself in the very short time we have been using the site. My wife is a school teacher and has many commitments before and after school. Famundo has made keeping track of her events a breeze! I no longer need to call her on a daily basis for a synopsis of her schedule. We invited my wife’s mother and sister to join our “Family” group as well. It has made planning family dinners, gatherings and trips so much easier. It’s a snap to login and see when and where everyone will be at any given time. Thank you so much for making our lives a little less complicated!

Thanks Troy and Nichole!

True Stories - The Life of a Busy Family

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Wed, 07 May 2008 16:52:00 GMT

Here is another true story about how Famundo has helped a family manage their busy lives.

My family has used a calendar program, cell phones calendars, and paper calendars for years to try to keep up with each other’s activities. Up until we found Famundo, the paper calendar with a different column for each family member worked best for us. The drawback was that when we were away from the house, we were unable to check availability of different family members as the calendar was at home in the kitchen. I have a small family, there are only 3 of us, but we are all always running in different directions since our daughter is now a teenager. Whether it be band, cheerleading, late work schedules, parent conference night, basketball, or girls night out, when something came up when we were away, we were unsure of each other’s availability because we couldn’t check that calendar that was at home in the kitchen.

Famundo allows us to keep all of our calendars in one place – easily accessible from any computer – or even from a cell phone. We can see if there is somewhere we’re supposed to be, check ahead for upcoming events, and add new items to the calendar from afar.

We can also give our password to extended family members so they can see our calendar to know if we’re busy before making any plans that involve us. Everyone knows how busy we are and how little time we spend at home. This is a valuable tool for everyone!

It has definitely made our life easier and we will continue to use it in the future.

Thank you, Famundo!

Posted by Richard Kuhlenschmidt Mon, 05 May 2008 20:24:00 GMT

We are very pleased that Famundo is featured in the June 2008 issue of Woman’s Day magazine (both print edition and online).

Surprising things you can get for free (or almost) Finally, all the information you need in one place. Famundo.com is an online calendar, address book and message board. The site merges each individual’s schedule into one calendar, which you can access with a personal code from any computer. Very cool.

The June issue of Woman’s Day is on the newsstands now. Run out and pick one up or check it out online!
